Power 98 Battle of the EPL Fan Club

Each year, soccer fans look eagerly towards July and August – which marks the start of the English Premier League (EPL) season, one of the world’s most watched premier event.  As one of the dedicated radio stations to give regular soccer reports to listeners, Power98FM and 883JiaFM organized BOTEF – Battle of the EPL Fan Clubs.  Local supporters from the different football clubs were invited, tongue-in-cheek, to fight it out at the carnival-like event for soccer fans and beach buffs alike, held at Sentosa’s Siloso Beach on 11 August 2007.  Fun activities such as Beach Soccer Challenge as well as Cheer Song Competition were part of the EPL pre-screening events. The on-site DJs kept up a lively commentary on the festivities over radio, adding a heightened atmosphere over the eight hours long carnival. Timex was the Official Timer for this fun-filled event.
